(a)in a State forest, timber reserve or forest reserve within a cyclone-affected area; and

(b)on a day during the period starting on 1 January 2024 and ending on 31 March 2024.

(2)Payment of the fee is waived for the holder of the commercial activity permit.(3)This section expires on 30 June 2024.(4)In this section—cyclone-affected area means a local government area identified by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority in the document—

(a)called ‘Tropical Cyclone Jasper, associated rainfall and flooding, 13–28 December 2023’; and

(b)published on the authority’s website.

daily activity fee, in relation to a commercial activity permit, means the fee mentioned in schedule 6, item 4(c).forest reserve means a forest reserve under the Nature Conservation Act 1992.Queensland Reconstruction Authority means the Queensland Reconstruction Authority established under the Queensland Reconstruction Authority Act 2011, section 7.Part 3Amendment of Nature Conservation (Protected Areas Management) Regulation 20174Regulation amendedThis part amends the Nature Conservation (Protected Areas Management) Regulation 2017.5Insertion of new s 159AZAAfter section 159AZ—insert—159AZA Waived additional daily fee for tropical cyclone Jasper(1)This section applies in relation to an additional daily fee payable under the Act for conducting a commercial activity under a commercial activity permit—

(a)in a protected area within a cyclone-affected area; and

(b)on a day during the period starting on 1 January 2024 and ending on 31 March 2024.

(2)Payment of the fee is waived for the holder of the commercial activity permit.(3)This section expires on 30 June 2024.(4)In this section—cyclone-affected area means a local government area identified by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority in the document—

(a)called ‘Tropical Cyclone Jasper, associated rainfall and flooding, 13–28 December 2023’; and

(b)published on the authority’s website.

(a)in Green Island Recreation Area; and

(b)on a day during the period starting on 1 January 2024 and ending on 31 March 2024.

(2)Payment of the fee is waived for the holder of the commercial activity permit.(3)This section expires on 30 June 2024.(4)In this section—additional daily fee, in relation to a commercial activity permit, means the fee mentioned in schedule 2, item 13(d)(i).
