1Short titleThis regulation may be cited as the Local Government (Fraser Coast Regional Council—Suspension of Councillor) Amendment Regulation 2023.2Regulation amendedThis regulation amends the Local Government Regulation 2012.3Insertion of new s 253Before section 254—insert—253 Suspension of councillor—Act, s 122(1)The nominated councillor is suspended from office as a councillor of the Fraser Coast Regional Council for the period of 1 month starting on 8 September 2023.Note—Subsection (1) gives effect to a recommendation made in writing by the Minister, on 1 September 2023 under section 122(2)(a) of the Act, that the Governor in Council suspend the nominated councillor for the period of 1 month starting on 8 September 2023. See also section 122(3) of the Act.(2)The suspension does not affect the nominated councillor’s entitlement to be paid remuneration as a councillor for the period.(3)This section expires on 8 October 2023.(4)In this section—nominated councillor means James Victor Hansen.
