Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Animal Care and Protection Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2016 . 2 Commencement Part 3 commences on 20 April 2017. 3 Regulation amended This regulation amends the Animal Care and Protection Regulation 2012 . Part 2 Amendments commencing on notification 4 Amendment of s 5 (Requirement to keep particular records for sows) Section 5— insert— (1A) A requirement, under subsection (1)(a) or (b), to keep a written record stating the date and time on each occasion a sow is placed in, or removed from, a stall does not apply to a person in charge of the sow until 20 April 2017. 5 Amendment of sch 2, s 13A (Restrictions on housing pigs in stall) Schedule 2, section 13A(1), after ‘stall’— insert— on and from 20 April 2017 6 Amendment of sch 2, s 13B (Restriction on housing pigs in farrowing crate) Schedule 2, section 13B, after ‘a farrowing crate’— insert— on and from 20 April 2017 Part 3 Amendments commencing on 20 April 2017 7 Amendment of s 5 (Requirement to keep particular records for sows) Section 5(1A)— omit. 8 Amendment of sch 2, ss 13A and 13B Schedule 2, sections 13A(1) and 13B, ‘on and from 20 April 2017’— omit.
