1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Major Events (Motor Racing Events) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2016 . 2 Regulation amended This regulation amends the Major Events (Motor Racing Events) Regulation 2015 . 3 Amendment of s 3 (Townsville 400 is a major event) Section 3, ‘2015’— omit, insert— 2016 4 Amendment of s 6 (Major event period for Townsville 400) Section 6, ‘9 July 2015 and midday on Monday 13 July 2015’— omit, insert— 7 July 2016 and midday on Monday 11 July 2016 5 Amendment of s 7 (Carrying out temporary works for Townsville 400) Section 7(a) and (b)— omit, insert—

(a) between 30 May 2016 and midday on 7 July 2016;

(b) between midday on 11 July 2016 and 30 July 2016.

6 Amendment of s 8 (Declaration of official title for Townsville 400) Section 8, ‘2015’— omit, insert— 2016 7 Insertion of new s 20 Part 4— insert— 20 Assessing building work for special fire service (1) This section applies to a building certifier engaged to assess building work for the purpose of giving a compliance certificate for section 78(3) of the Act. (2) Before giving a compliance certificate for the building work, the building certifier must—

(a) consult the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service about special fire services for the building work; and

(b) if the building work is for a building or structure that is proposed to have a special fire service—obtain a report on the suitability of the proposed service from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service.

(3) In this section— building certifier see the Building Act 1975 , section 8. special fire service see the Building Act 1975 , schedule 2.
