1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2016 . 2 Regulation amended This regulation amends the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996 . 3 Amendment of ss 163 and 174 Sections 163 and 174(4)(b) and (5)(b), ‘a restricted drug that is’— omit. 4 Amendment of s 171 (Pharmacists) (1) Section 171— insert— (4A) A pharmacist is authorised to administer a vaccine to an adult under the pharmacist vaccination program DTP. (2) Section 171(4A) and (5)— renumber as section 171(5) and (6). 5 Amendment of s 257 (Pharmacists) (1) Section 257— insert— (1A) A pharmacist is authorised to administer adrenalin of a strength of 0.1% or less to an adult under the pharmacist vaccination program DTP. (2) Section 257(1A) and (2)— renumber as section 257(2) and (3). 6 Amendment of appendix 9 (Dictionary) Appendix 9— insert— pharmacist vaccination program DTP means the drug therapy protocol called ‘Drug Therapy Protocol—Pharmacist Vaccination Program’. vaccine means a restricted drug that is identified as a vaccine in the current Poisons Standard.
