Police Service (Ranks) Regulation 1991 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Police Service (Ranks) Regulation 1991 . 2 Commencement This regulation commenced on 17 August 1991. 3 Interpretation In this regulation— Act means the Police Service Administration Act 1990. 4 Ranks of police officers (1) For the purposes of section 5.1 of the Act, the ranks of officers are declared to be those mentioned in column 3 of the Schedule. (2) In relation to the ranks mentioned in the Schedule—

(a) if, in respect of a rank mentioned in column 3, only 1 rank is mentioned in column 2—the rank in column 3 corresponds with that other rank; and

(b) if, in respect of a rank mentioned in column 3, more than 1 rank is mentioned in column 2—the rank in column 3 includes each of those other ranks.
