Part 1Preliminary1Short titleThis regulation may be cited as the Major Events (British and Irish Lions Tour) Regulation 2025.2DefinitionsIn this regulation—British and Irish Lions Tour 2025 means the major event prescribed under section 3.crowd controller see the Security Providers Act 1993, section 5.security officer see the Security Providers Act 1993, section 7.Part 2British and Irish Lions Tour 20253British and Irish Lions Tour 2025 prescribed as major event—Act, s 12For section 12(1) of the Act, the event known as the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025 is prescribed as a major event.4Major event organiser—Act, s 12For section 12(2)(a) of the Act, Rugby Australia Ltd ACN 002 898 544 is prescribed as the major event organiser for the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025.5Major event area—Act, s 12For section 12(2)(b) of the Act, the area shown on the map in schedule 1 as the major event area is prescribed as the major event area for the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025.6Major event period—Act, s 12For section 12(2)(c) of the Act, the period prescribed as the major event period for the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025 is the period from 4p.m. on 2 July 2025 to 10.45p.m. on 19 July 2025.7Application of Act provisions to British and Irish Lions Tour 2025—Act, s 12(1)For sections 12(2)(d)(i) and 17(b) of the Act, the following provisions of the Act are prescribed as provisions that apply to the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025 for the periods stated in subsection (2)—

(a)section 31, other than subsection (1)(a);

(b)section 36.

(2)For subsection (1), the periods are—

(a)from 4p.m. to 10.45p.m. on 2 July 2025; and

(b)from 4p.m. to 10.45p.m. on 19 July 2025.

8Application of Act provisions to major event area—Act, s 12(1)For section 12(2)(d)(ii) of the Act, the following provisions of the Act are prescribed as provisions that apply to the major event area for the periods stated in subsection (2)—

(a)section 18;

(b)section 20(1) to (5) and (7);

(c)section 22;

(d)section 25;

(e)section 26(1)(a) to (c), (e), (2), (3) and (6);

(f)section 30;

(g)section 31, other than subsection (1)(b);

(h)sections 32 and 33;

(i)section 35.

(2)For subsection (1), the periods are—

(a)from 4p.m. to 10.45p.m. on 2 July 2025; and

(b)from 4p.m. to 10.45p.m. on 19 July 2025.

9Controlled area—Act, s 12For section 12(3)(a) of the Act, the area shown on the map in schedule 1 as the controlled area is prescribed as the controlled area for the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025.10Control period—Act, s 12For section 12(3)(b) of the Act, the following periods are prescribed as the control period for the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025—

(a)from 4p.m. to 10.45p.m. on 2 July 2025;

(b)from 4p.m. to 10.45p.m. on 19 July 2025.

11Application of Act provisions to controlled area—Act, s 12For section 12(3)(c) of the Act, the following provisions of the Act are prescribed as provisions that apply to the controlled area for the control period—

(a)section 30;

(b)section 31, other than subsection (1)(b);

(c)sections 32 and 33;

(d)section 35.

Part 3Official logos and official titles12Official logos—Act, s 51For section 51(1)(a) of the Act, each of the following logos is declared to be an official logo for the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025—

(a)each logo shown in schedule 2;

(b)a black and white copy of each logo shown in schedule 2 in colour.

13Official titles—Act, s 51For section 51(1)(b) of the Act, each of the following titles is declared to be an official title for the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025—

(a)British and Irish Lions;

(b)British and Irish Lions Tour;

(c)British and Irish Lions Australian Tour 2025.

Part 4Authorised persons14Authorised persons—Act, s 56For section 56(1)(d) of the Act, the other persons prescribed for the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025 are—

(a)a crowd controller; and

(b)a security officer.

15Limit on powers of particular authorised persons—Act, s 57(1)For section 57(2) of the Act, this section limits the powers of particular authorised persons for the British and Irish Lions Tour 2025.(2)An authorised person may exercise a power under section 18(5) or 25 of the Act only if the person is—

(a)a police officer; or

(b)a crowd controller; or

(c)a security officer.

(3)Also, an authorised person may exercise a power under any of the following provisions of the Act only if the person is a police officer—

(a)section 30(4);

(b)section 32(5);

(c)section 33(4);

(d)section 54(2);

(e)section 63(2).
