1Unless otherwise stated in a code of practice, the code of practice does not state all that the person to whom the code of practice applies must do, or must not do, to discharge the person’s general biosecurity obligation. See section 26(2) of the Act.

2For applying the general biosecurity obligation offence provision, the person fails to discharge the general biosecurity obligation if the person contravenes, or otherwise acts inconsistently with, a code of practice, or does not follow a way that is as effective as, or more effective than, the code of practice for discharging the general biosecurity obligation. See section 26(3) of the Act.
