1Short titleThis regulation may be cited as the Major Events (Motor Racing Events) (Townsville 500) Amendment Regulation 2021.2CommencementThis regulation commences on 14 June 2021.3Regulation amendedThis regulation amends the Major Events (Motor Racing Events) Regulation 2015.4Amendment of s 2 (Definitions)(1)Section 2, definition motor racing event, paragraph (b), ‘400’—omit, insert—500(2)Section 2, definition Townsville 400, ‘400’—omit, insert—5005Replacement of pt 2 (Townsville 400)Part 2—omit, insert—Part 2Townsville 5003Townsville 500 is a major event—Act, s 12For section 12(1) of the Act, the V8 Supercars motor racing event known as the Townsville 500 to be held in 2021 is prescribed as a major event.4Major event organiser for Townsville 500—Act, s 12For section 12(2)(a) of the Act, V8 Supercars Australia Pty Ltd ACN 077 053 484 is prescribed as the major event organiser for the Townsville 500.5Major event area for Townsville 500—Act, s 12For section 12(2)(b) of the Act, the major event area prescribed for the Townsville 500 is the area surrounding the Townsville Civic Theatre shown on the map in schedule 1 as the major event area.6Major event period for Townsville 500—Act, s 12For section 12(2)(c) of the Act, the major event period for the Townsville 500 is the period from midday on 8 July 2021 to midday on 12 July 2021.7Carrying out temporary works for Townsville 500—Act, s 16For section 16(2) of the Act, the following periods are prescribed—

(a)from the beginning of the day on 14 June 2021 to midday on 8 July 2021;

(b)from midday on 12 July 2021 to midnight on 23 July 2021.
