1Short titleThis rule may be cited as the Supreme Court (Admission) Amendment Rule 2020.2Rule amended This rule amends the Supreme Court (Admission) Rules 2004.3Insertion of new r 27A After rule 27—insert—27AAlternative process in exceptional circumstances(1)This section applies if the Chief Justice considers a requirement under part 3 relating to admission to the legal profession should be removed or modified because of exceptional circumstances, including, for example, a public health emergency. (2)The Chief Justice may make a practice direction providing for an alternative process for admission to the legal profession.(3)If the practice direction is inconsistent with a rule of court, the practice direction prevails to the extent of the inconsistency.
