Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Interim Standard 2008 [s 1] Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Interim Standard 2008 [reprinted as in force on 1 July 2008] 1 Short title This standard may be cited as the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Interim Standard 2008 . 2 Commencement This standard commences on 1 July 2008. 3 Definition In this standard— 2000 standard means the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Standard 2000. 4 Operation of standard (1) While it is in force, this standard changes references to particular terms in particular provisions of the 2000 standard. (2) The changes ensure the operation of the 2000 standard is not affected because of changes to definitions under the Act to commence on 1 July 2008. (3) The 2000 standard is subject to this standard. 5 Changes to references in 2000 standard (1) In this section, a reference to a stated provision is a reference to that provision of the 2000 standard. (2) The reference in section 7(4) to ‘scheduled passenger service, long distance scheduled passenger service’ is taken to be a reference to ‘general route service, school service’. Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Interim Standard 2008 [s 6] (3) The references in section 12(2)(b) and 21(2)(b) to long distance scheduled passenger transport services and to tourist services are taken to be references to those terms as defined under the Act immediately before 1 July 2008. (4) The reference in section 14(2) and 29(1) to ‘scheduled passenger service or long distance scheduled passenger service’ is taken to be a reference to ‘general route service or school service’. (5) The references in section 30 to ‘scheduled passenger service’ are taken to be references to ‘general route service or school service’. (6) The reference in section 32(1) to ‘scheduled passenger or long distance scheduled passenger service’ is taken to be a reference to ‘general route service or school service’. (7) The reference in section 33(1) to ‘scheduled passenger service or long distance scheduled passenger service’ is taken to be a reference to ‘general route service’. 6 Expiry This standard expires 6 months after it commences.
