The office's email and telephone (hotline) services provide information about our products and services. However, the provision of legal research or advice is not part of the office’s role.

This office is therefore unable to provide any form of legal advice, including how provisions are applied, what provisions mean, future plans for legislation and underlying policies for any legislation.

Automated weekly email notifications

The office compiles a full list of changed and new legislation on a weekly basis. If you wish to receive an automated text email notification of changes to legislation, please follow the procedure outlined below.

Before you begin, you acknowledge that:

• you are using your own email address and authorised to subscribe to such services
• you have access to your email account
• when moving jobs, or using a new email address, you must unsubscribe your original email address, following the procedure outlined in the unsubscribe process below.
• This service observes the privacy guidelines of the Queensland Government. For more information please see the privacy and security page of this website.
  
  

To Subscribe to the Notification Service:

1. Create a new email and address it to: dolist@legislation.qld.gov.au
   
   
2. Ensure there is no text in the subject line of this email
   
   
3. In the body area of the message place the following text only:   join OQPC_Legislation
   See example:
   
   
   
   
4. Click Send (If your email application asks you to fill in subject field - say no and continue to send the email)
   
   
5. After a few minutes you will receive an email from the listserver, asking you to reply to the email it just sent you to validate your email address. Simply hit the Reply button in your email program and then click send - do not edit this email in any way.
   
   
6. You will receive a second email from the listserver after replying to the above email welcoming you to the notification service and advising you on some handy commands you may like to use.
   
   You have now successfully joined the notification list.

 

To Unsubscribe from the Notification Service:

Each email sent from the service will advise you on how to unsubscribe from the service. The process is also listed here for your convenience:

1. Create a new email and address it to: dolist@legislation.qld.gov.au
   
   
2. Ensure there is no text in the subject line of this email
   
   
3. In the body area of the message place the following text only:   leave OQPC_Legislation
   See example:
   
   
   
   
4. Click Send (If your email application asks you to fill in subject field - say no and continue to send the email)
   
   
5. You will receive an email from the listserver advising you have been removed from the notification list.
   
   You have now successfully unsubscribed from the notification list.

Assistance is provided for access to legislation, but the office does not provide support for the configuration of browsers or the installation of software associated with reading files from this site.
